Did Kirk Douglas rape her?

Natalie Wood would be 82 today. There were some rumours that Kirk Douglas "raped" her when she was 16. However these rumours seem to be dubious and questionable at best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8chLFVbV_s&t=93s
Of course the definition of rape has changed under Me Too. Now it could mean looked at too long. Or it could mean didn't get the part.

reply

Wow! That needless to say is a very shocking allegation and news to me as well!!

reply

Kirk Douglas has never been accused or even named as a suspect by law enforcement. Her sister claims that someone "important" raped her and she knows who he is, but refuses to name the person because he was still alive and she didn't want to get sued. Some people assumed it was Kirk because most of the others from that era were all dead at the time. Well Kirk is now dead and she is still not naming anyone.

reply

I don't think it's him. a. this was circa 1954 and any evidence would be that far removed also. b. Her sister claims Robert Wagner killed her which is very doubtful, thereby making any other claims from 66 years ago even more doubtful. c. the only place it actually named Douglas is on a fake blog where the blogger claimed to be Robert Downey Jr. (who would want to be?), which has been debunked by the real one. d. The two are shown in photos together cordially. e. Kirk Douglas just isn't that type. In spite of all this could someone have actually done it, Douglas or someone else? Sure, but if so probably it's an ambiguous exaggeration of what happened. I.e. not actually a "rape", at least by the pre-Me Too definition. Anyway Natalie Wood would be 82 today. Why did you do it RJ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chlwxs2dfVA

reply

It is possible she Was a rape victim. I read reports Judy Garland was fondled by the powers that be during that era as well. Sadly her mother wasn't much better than Nat's. However regarding me too, I'm all for criminal reform regarding taking valid victim's accusations seriously, not some so called feminist who just wants to get on the bandwagon for attention. I am sick of compliments and innocent flirtation like winking seen as violations.

I am a Gen Xer, and remember when my galpals gave guys hell for not noticing them. Boy have times changed in
1 generation. I always have and continue to stand up for myself, and avoid dangerous situations. My philosophy may sound oppressive and corny to young people. But I have never been a rape victim.

reply

Yes, good points. Actually many great actresses say they were never harassed because they didn't let themselves be: Bridget Bardot, Catherine Deneuve, Olivia Hussey are a few. Me Too has gone so overboard and ruined the lives of so many innocent men. I sincerely believe Rose McGowan and those like her are some of the most evil people of our era because they exploit falsehoods.

reply

Maybe Rose was sexually abused and it fell on deaf ears. In which, I feel bad for her, but you do not destroy people's good names to get back at perverts. Many woman are mad at Johnny Depp'exes since they are defending him against Amber. Rape and domestic abuse are sick, vile crimes that should not be played with.

reply

Much of it was conjecture by arm chair accusers. There were a also few assholes at IMDb that wouldn't let it go as well as here.

As someone already mentioned Natalies sister still hasn't named him. It's been 5 months since Kirks death. So if it was him she is most likely waiting to make some cash on it...
Or the person hasnt died yet....

I personally think it's a bunch of hooey...

That she was raped or that she was raped by Douglas?

reply

Raped by douglas

reply

I can't believe she'd be in her 80s! Time is cruel!

Lana Wood has confirmed what many fans like myself have been aware of for years. Suzanne Finstad's 2001 biography was the first to reveal the rape in print, but Kirk Douglas could not be named for legal reasons (he was, of course, still living at the time), but several clues were dropped as to his identity, and it wasn't difficult to figure out that it was him from the information given.

His first autobiography, The Ragman's Son (published in 1988) has some disturbing entries - from claiming that his being taken advantage of by a female teacher when he was 14 years old was "a good experience", to bragging about how he used sex to punish and degrade and anti-Semitic woman to engaging in inappropriate contact with young girls, he all but outed himself as a predator (as well as a victim who became a victimizer).

reply

Poor old Lana Wood, whose career never went anywhere, is desperate for attention and money and will say anything to reinvigorate her fifteen minutes whenever she has the chance.

It's hard to imagine a heterosexual man who wouldn't regard being seduced by a female teacher when he was fourteen years old as one of the best experiences of his life. Any straight man who claims otherwise is a lying virtue-signaler.

As for the rest--rape, harassment, and predation have been so radically redefined recently that they can't be related to what was considered right or wrong in the 1930s to 1960s, when Douglas was in his young manhood and middle age. Touching a woman's upper arm while speaking to her is now thought of as sexual assault. We're living in a period of such absurdity that most people aren't intelligent enough to regard the past rationally.

reply

Minors can't consent, it's sexual assault. Period. Gender makes no difference. The whole "any straight man wouldn't complain" is beyond ignorant. Is that your way of saying that males can't be sexually assaulted?

This did not originate with Lana. Get that through your head.

We now know more about sexual assault and harassment. It's only people who have predatory tendencies who complain about how unfair it is that they don't have to respect other people's personal space and boundaries. If you haven't done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about

reply

No, he didn't. It's just more bullshit to sell papers to the tabloid-reading morons who hang on every word from Lana Wood as if she wasn't a desperate old attention-seeking lunatic.

reply

Again, it didn't originate with her. Do research. Oh, wait, that would require you to actually get out of your misogynistic mindset. Ah, the life of an internet troll.
