The Third Man and The Stranger are worth a watch.
I've never seen his Macbeth or Othello, but nor have I heard them brought up much, so I don't know.

The Third Man was a classic, but Orson had a pretty minor role. The Stranger is in general thought to be his worst-this was his own opinion. However it did have some great actors; the script was very flawed though. My favorite that he was in was Casino Royale, but he had only a small role in that too.

I looked at a different thread and I saw The Stranger wasn't well regarded. I caught it on public TV with a really bad public domain copy, but I recognized a very young Richard Long and the great EG Robinson is the lead. It just seemed very watchable, if a bit telegraphed.

Concerning The Third Man, I only saw it once, but how I recall it is even if Welles didn't have a lot of screen time, his character drives the whole plot, and when he does arrive, it's a full-on charge.

I really enjoyed The Stranger. Thought it was a great film. I haven’t heard a lot of people bashing it. I always saw it as pretty highly regarded.
