Citizen Kane is a must-see for anyone who is a film fan. The first time you watch it you may be underwhelmed due to its immense reputation which sets unrealistically high expectations, but it's one that should grow on you over time. It's certainly a good film. I've watched it twice and I'm sure I'll eventually buy it on Blu-Ray.

Touch of Evil is also a good noir film. It features excellent performances from Charlton Heston and Orson.

I have not seen them, but I've also heard that The Magnificent Ambersons and Chimes at Midnight are very good as well.

Citizen Kane is a great film. It was really about William Randolph Hearst the newspaper publishing tycoon.

reply

Yes. they are definitely worth watching.

Definitely watch Citizen Kane. Some of the camera tricks are just unbelievable. I haven't bothered to watch his other flicks, they were all box office failures but I hear they're still pretty good. Also, they say he peaked early which I definitely agree with.

No, I don't think his other movies were good. The Stranger was bad on an almost Ed Wood level, and The Magnificent Ambersons style over substance.

reply

Citizen Kane is the only one worth watching. The rest was terrible, especially The Stranger.

reply

Bullshit. "The Magnificent Ambersons" and "Touch of Evil" are great.
