This film sunk Fox and was considered to be both a bomb as well as one of the first X-rated films ever to be released by a major studio (along with "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls"). It's become a cult movie now, and it sounds as though there are a lot of stories connected to it. It would be a great subject for a book or a documentary.

Hey, interesting handle, Annie! Are you from Singapore? I grew up there and went to Bugis Street a few times before it was shut down by the city.

You may have already seen "Saint Jack." Check out another movie called "A Matter of Innocence." Also "The G.I. Executioner," a film I got to help them shoot in Singapore when I was a kid, but it's godawful, lol... all of these movies feature Bugis Street. There's also a Chinese film called "Bugis Street."
