You're just kidding around, right?
I have never been to Kansas. I do like that line in the movie though.....
"I have the feeling we're not in Kansas......"
It means that we are in a very strange place, and NOT in a normal place like Kansas.
That is a good thing. Try not to be too hard on Judy. She didn't write that line.
She only delivered it...... and nicely too.

Sorry Moose, but I have never heard of Kansas being a joke. I think that is one cool line! It puts you folks from Kansas on the map! Be PROUD!
I'm from Wisconsin. I find it fun when people call me a Cheese Head.
Life's too short. You gotta laugh!

There is also a James Bond movie "Diamonds are Forever" where Bloefeld (the main bad guy) is pointing a laser over the planet. He is bragging to James and he says "Right now the laser is over... Kansas... well if we blew up Kansas it would take the world a week to find out!"

reply

LOL! I never saw that one.
You gotta lighten up. That's funny. It also puts Kansas on the map!

We are pretty strong stock! We contribute a great deal. Remember though....
It's not a war.

Well, everyone contributes in their own way no matter where you live. I grew up in the country where we had goats and pigs and a huge garden. We all helped out and canned much of our produce. As I grew older, I traveled, joined the Army, and I eventually worked in the city. I came back to Wisconsin because it's home and I had family here. I also met my husband here. Now we live in a small city. I like it.
What do you do in the winter time?

reply

[deleted]

That's great! Do you and your family grow all of this produce or do you work for others?
Our pumpkin season is pretty much over. One of the near-by smaller towns had a big pumpkin festival in late October.
I'm semi- retired. O work at a place where we train people with special needs to go out in the community and work. I plan to retire by the end of this year. When I'm not at work or here on Movie Chat I volunteer and help out at our local animal shelter. I like that best. There are times when I wish I could take all of them home, but I know that isn't possible. It's good to see the dogs and cats get adopted into good homes. They all need a lot of love.

What did you delete???? I hate that when I get a notification and I didn't get the chance to read what that person said. Don't delete your replies!
Now I want to know what you said!

Judy Garland was a genius. She didn't write The Wizard of Oz. Your problem, in this instance, is with L. Frank Baum, author of the Oz books; but I don't think that you care. You have no idea who L. Frank Baum was. You like being pissed off, and lasting out. Your punishment is that you have to be you. I don't find you to be a valued member of the MovieChat community. Goodbye
