Agreed . . . she's must've been trying to play the femme fatale . . . doomed to never have the love of her life . . . to go on living in misery . . . I don't believe it, and they may not have even known each other that well . . . or she was just seeking some publicity . . .

What else did she have? Just fantasies of Dean . . .
shareThe maternal influence was really quite strong. One of the reason for this that that time Damone had already a secure existence but Dean didn't yet. And Pier knew it too. She wasn't brave enough. Rest of her life she was unhappy because of her bad marriage. Her and Dean's love toward each other is lost into the obscurity. We don't know how good or bad they would have lived together.
Never before or since... that's James Dean.
