When did Marlon Brando start too lose his looks

In the 1950's he at his heyday of good looks when did his looks start too fade.

Marlon was on Dick Cavett in 1973 and looked awesome.

I think he only lost his looks because of getting fat, which was in the late 1970's. He was never really good-looking after that.

But if he would have stayed in better shape, I think he would have remained good looking for many more years.

Marlon stopped smoking soon after Last Tango was filmed. I read that him and his son Christian would smoke while frequenting the Parisian cafes during the shoot. You can see the huge weight gain by 1976 when his Apocalypse scenes were filmed. In my experience, 99% of people who stop smoking gain a lot of weight. Marlon just wasn't the type to be concerned about his looks at age 50 or so.

He was really fat in The Freshman with Matthew Broderick. In that film he really played a parody of himself, which made it even more enjoyable, especially the ending which took place in a cornfield as did The Godfather.
