Pick one?

What is Bergman's best film? I adore many of them, but I'd have to say the television version of Fanny and Alexander. Persona would be a close second.

Wild Strawberries.
The Virgin Spring.
The Silence.
Cries and Whispers.

Hm. Admittedly, I don't have my glasses on, but that looks like four to me... :)

All great choices, by the way.

Hello wickerman,
my favourite is Tystnaden (1963, already listed by painbow under the English title The Silence).
Received it years ago as a bonus when I ordered some other movies; and it made me wonder whether there's more on dvd with Jörgen Lindström. Oh yes, there is... :-)
Kind regards

While it wasn’t one of my favourites upon first viewing, I was lucky enough to catch Persona on the big screen a couple of years ago and it was like watching it though a new pair of eyes. Absolutely breathtaking, possibly the greatest experience I have ever had in the cinema.

Several of his films would be in my all-time top 100, but Persona is a top ten film for me.
