Will it get generic real quick?

It already has. It was a mindfuck early on when we (and David himself) were not sure if he really was crazy or not.

But now that it's obvious the yellow-eyed freaky fat dude is responsible for all the false memories and scary visions, it's just a matter of time until David takes control of himself, and the threat gets defeated and another will take its place for next season.
