I heard David raped Syd. Is that true?

No.

Oh, that's good. My mum told me David was a rapist.

No David is definitely not a rapist but there is a scene at the end of episode 5 which may be what she is referring to but I will not describe what happened as you haven't seen it yet.

That has not been in the show, I don't know about the comic book storyline. In the show, Syd said she switched minds with her mom (without her mom's consent) and then had sex with the mom's boyfriend, who thought he was having sex with the mom.
mother: not consenting an was asleep when Syd switched
mother's boyfriend: not consenting and tricked
Syd: the only one of the 3 who was consenting

pending on how old she was at the time it could be stachatory rape which is the worst kind of rape... except for maybe demon rape or maybe hentai style tentacle monster rape....
