Anyone else cry when the title came on at the end?

Man, I didn't expect this. I had heard it was something but I didn't expect this. I sat watching this movie, being drawn into its story of human struggle and inner feelings. The pace of the direction, music, cinematography, production design all intriguing. As in any film I watched it somewhat attached but involved. It wasn't until the film ended and the the title came on the screen that its full impact hit me. I literally started weeping and cried for a while. Goes to show the power of this type of story telling. I'm glad I was watching it alone. The only other film I remember feeling like this as soon as it ended was THE ARTIST.

Once the credits were rolling, I was the only one among the audience crying. I didnĀ“t expect to hit me this hard.

My favorite film of the year.

Difficult to ascertain, really. I wasn't crying and the other audience members were long gone by that stage.

It's the shot of the kid at the end. The inner child finally getting some kind of message that he was okay somewhere as a person in his life. That he wasn't all the awful horrible *beep* things he was bullied growing up into thinking he was. After all the pain there was some kind of peace.

I was crying for the last 20 minutes! The whole scene in the restaurant, and when the song was put on the jukebox, looking at eachother.... it was really emotional. I wanted to see more of them and was sad that it was over when it was!!

I wasn't crying, but you're right. Those final scenes are powerful. I wanted the film to keep going. I'm hoping there are some deleted scenes. I do want to know what happened with Kevin and Chiron.

In an whole different way, it works the way Douglas Sirk's IMITATION OF LIFE works, where has just thinking about the concept and feelings trying to be expressed are enough to make you get teary eyed. The feeling are universal and they run that deep. I think it's that final shot of the kid turning around. Something in him at long last has found some kind of meaning to his life and understanding within himself. The mother stressing to the adult man that she doesn't care about him not loving her, that she wanted him to know that through all the misfortune she perpetrated it was important that he knew she loved him. The friend after 10 years not being able to get past what he did. Cooking that meal, wanting to please him. Make up for what he did. So many things in that film.

I didn't cry so much as feel a kind of hope that Chiron would finally be able to begin his journey toward being who he needs to be and that actually filled me with a lot of joy.

Trying to create a channel based on interpreting, reviewing, and even giving you something to laugh about film. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance.
