about the high rating and praise for this film. just a personal opinion, but i gave it an honest chance, yet i had a hard time even making it to the end, with all the absurdities, the far-fetched basic plotline and the anticlimactic third act. McAvoy gave it his best, but all the personalities seemed so cheesy and over the top. i am just glad that Joaquin Phoenix did not agree to do this. otherwise it would have been even more overacted and overpraised.

Only I was Surprised How M. Night Shyamalan Went from The Depths Of Failure of "After Earth" to somehow Only 4 years later completely resurrecting his career with The Visit and Now This excellent movie "Split"
First I must admit I'm a M. Night Shyamalan Fan, I really love some of his earlier movies.
I was pretty much Blown away by Split...I loved everything about it, Was completely Hooked and Invested from the time it started until it ended, Then AFTER it ended and The Big reveal came , Jesus It took it to another level...I LOVE Unbreakable, once it was revealed that Split was an Unbreakable sequel set it the same universe, It made this awesome movie something Truly special. Then Once I got online and started reading all The Clues, Easter Eggs, and connections between Unbreakable and Spilt, It literally kinda blew my mind
I guess because I'm a M. Night Shyamalan fan and because of how much I've always loved Unbreakable, I could be biased...But man I dont see how anyone could be disappointed in this movie...
This film is rare, Its A Sequel that 1000% works even if you've never seen Unbreakable.

I love reading your post because I feel exactly as you do! I love Unbreakable to death and always revisit the boards to just talk about it once a year after I've rewatched it again. The ending in this film blew me away and can't wait for the final act! Unbreakable is also my favorite Shyamalan film btw!
