Deadwood film. Like Firefly, or...

VERY excited about this new film. I wonder if it will have the same setup as Firefly: a summary of the story so far and a satisfying conclusion. Any ideas or news?

Just read a story that said HBO had received a script treatment and they were pleased. Unfortunately,
With the untimely death of powers booth I am unsure where the story will go without him. Some would say his loss is irrelevant, but milch once imagined the end story for the show to be cy and al,homeless and destitute sharing a drink in a shanty town area of deadwood. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I had no idea about this movie. I wish they would bring it back as a series. Ian McShane as Al made the show, and I hope Timothy Olyphant is busy. (I'm mostly joking about that last part!)
Cy wasn't a likeable character, but a great actor (RIP) and it would be strange to see him recast if that's what they decide to do.

4 months ago and I didn't hear about it? opps

Ian McShane just gets better in every role.

reply

Oh I agree, I could just listen to him forever!

Olyphant was great as Bullock and he's a big part of why the show was brilliant.

reply

True, I just found he only had one expression or something put me off.

reply

He was a bit stoic but it was great watching him bash people

reply

Yes this is what I meant, but I guess he was supposed to come off as cold or just there to get the job done so to speak, and a good bashing is never a bad thing. haha
I'm so excited for this now!

Milch didn't imagine that as the end story. Al actually did end up homeless and destitute. It sucks about Powers Booth but Cy isn't really necessary to further the story.
