Why does everyone hates 2 fast 2 furious?

Looks like everyone here on IMDB seems to think 2F2F is the worst of the franchise so far. Why do people seem to dislike it so much? I think it was a very thrilling movie, and at least Roman is NOT a complete buffoon in that movie.

I also like how it wasn't a completely unrelated story unlike Tokyo Drift.

I like it alright. It's fluff but fun fluff.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

I love 2. It's so bright and colorful and fun. I mean it's basically a two hour music video shot at Spring Break. Way better than the grim and dour 4th film with its cheeseball FX. And Paul totally carried the film without Vin. Could Vin do the same without Rock and Statham? We'll probably never know.

I liked it as well. Definitely better than Tokyo Drift.

It just felt like the first one with a different city and the absence of Diesel

I actually don't hate it, I just think most of the others are a little bit more fun partly because of Deisel.

I'm trying to go for an engaging, funny youtube channel so, if you have the time, take a look. Hope you enjoy what you see. Thanks in advance. Review of the movie- https://youtu.be/4xfnsgokSQk

I absolutely love Tokyo Drift. That film, for me and a small pool of other fans, was a modern classic. It's the updated age old story of a fish out of water trying to make good in a strange land, last seen in Karate Kid, seen before in the 50s with some James Dean types. Disgruntled youth, conflict, car chases, proving yourself, becoming a man. Man, it's Footloose on steroids. It's probably the second best film of the series in terms of realism. If I had my druthers, after all the fireworks and hooplah the Fast series is doing, i'd launch lite with a new Fast series starring Black, taking it back to basics.

Vin Diesel = Fast & Furious
Fast & Furious = Vin Diesel

No Vin, No FF

They thought FF is about Brian. Then they thought it's about cars and street racing. Oh, how wrong they were. 2F2F and Tokyo Drift are not bad movies at all, they're just not FF. That's why they're hated. FF audience wants Vin, they didn't get it, they hate.

And I understand them. How could they know? Vin Diesel wasn't that big a name when the first FF happened. But I think they know now. They won't make another FF without him. Even if it's sporting The Rock and Jason Statham (arguably way bigger stars), FF without Vin will fail.

The opposite also happens to Vin. Audience saw a movie with Vin, they expect FF (or FF-like experience). Vin Diesel has become some kind of action hero icon not unlike Arnold Schwarzenegger or Jackie Chan. Or more specific version of them.

Would you see a Terminator sequel without Arnold? Or Rush Hour 4 without Jackie Chan? I know I won't.
