I smell Trump references

The baby's blonde and successful, so I'm just guessing. It'd be funny though. ?

It would be funny, but unlikely in a kid's film put out by a major studio. Boss Baby is based on a kid's book and is a comedy that comes from the feeling of displacement a child feels when they get a younger sibling. Look through some of the other threads on this board and you'll find videos from Comicon where a panel discusses the concept. It's also explained on the face page for the movie on IMDB. I think it will be funny, even if it isn't a political lampoon.

I came to Imdb to see if anyone had the same idea as me- lol.
Grouchy blonde baby, gotta think Trump. And then voiced by Baldwin- slam dunk.

I can only hope this movie is indeed based on Trump when he was a kid. It would be funny and informative.

For instance, it is a little known secret that Trump also wore suits when he was a toddler. He started to carry his toys in a briefcase by the time he was 2 years old. By the age of 4 he knew all the stock symbols of the NYSE and the names of the first 75 people on (what is now) the Forbes list of wealthiest people. He was a clever negotiator during quarterly allowance talks with his parents and consequently got much more than the other kids in his neighbourhood. With this money, he leased a part of the municipal playground in his home town and charged the other kids money or candy to play on it. He also did role play with his parents' pets (a dog named Buck, and a cat named Penny) and liked to do performance reviews with them. Little Donald also had a barbie collection, which made his parents worry that he would not be straight. However, he just did mock-pageants with his dolls and threw away the ones that he considered ugly or fat.

That could be funny.

The film is based on a kid's book of the same name. Here's a description of the story by the publisher:

From the moment the baby arrived, it was obvious that he was the boss.

The boss baby is used to getting his way—drinks made to order 24/7, a private jet, and meetings around the clock. But when his demands aren’t getting proper responses, he has to go to new lengths to achieve the attention he deserves.

That does sound like Trump!

Is he deporting mexicans at the end of this movie, too?

reply

Huh? You responded to my post about how the movie is based on a kid's picture book. Did you mean to respond to me?

reply

disney is always PC....so yes they will

reply

Not sure what you're trying to say. Why are you bringing up Disney?

reply

It's the way he purses his lips. He does the duck lips throughout the whole trailer.

1) Wears suit.
2) Purses lips all the time.

Instant likeness.

reply

It's a Trump biography.

reply

Just waiting for him to tweet that the filmmakers are a bunch of losers and mention how they're sad.

It's a Katekyo Hitman Reborn near "ripoff". A baby-looking character who dresses in a suit, talks as a grown-up and works for an organisation/syndicate.

The movie is based on a picture book of the same name:

Katekyo Hitman Reborn is from 2006 (the anime, the manga preceeds it) . Marla Frazee's book is from 2010. Not that i'm implying anything.

reply

Right - you aren't implying anything. You already said the movie was a rip-off of Katekyo Hitman Reborn and I'm telling you that it's not. Same idea or not, this movie is based on Marla Frazee's book. I looked up KHR and it shares the idea of a baby that is more like an adult than a baby. But after that similarity, they are different stories. Lots of stories will share the same premise or plot device without being copies of one another.

reply

Yeah, I saw the trailer today and he does look a bit like a toddler version of Trump. The film's concept is clever and I like Alec Baldwin, but I don't think this is going to turn out very well.

reply

I'd never make the connection myself...but now I find myself slightly tempted to take the poster, crop out the actual title so it just leaves the kid and "Born Leader", and set it as my avatar on a forum I'm on with way more than its fair share of politics, for the sole purpose of seeing if anyone gets angry at me for supposed Trump support.
