I just realized, they did this joke in Trolls

According to the trailer for Trolls, one of the trolls looks like a little girl troll but has a scratchy, Harvey Fierstein-like voice. Why would you base an entire movie around a joke YOU JUST DID in another movie?

Also, they did this joke with Finnick in Zootopia but at least they had a somewhat original idea with it by having an animal that actually does look young their whole life be mistaken for a baby, rather than just a species that doesn't always look really young but has a young looking member being mistaken for a baby or kid.

You believe the whole movie is based on a joke instead of the picture book, Boss Baby by Marla Frazee?

The trailer is missing something. They should credit the book.

Not necessarily, I'm just saying Dreamworks is reusing ideas from movies they just did.

Not necessarily? Let's try again: The premise for this movie comes from a children's book. So, they are not reusing ideas. Maybe it just seems like it's being repeated because it's a somewhat common plot device to have a character appear to be one way (like a baby or an innocent creature) and turn out to have a very different nature (think gremlins, Stitch, or even Toothless).

I'm aware it's a common plot device. All I'm saying is, if they are going to adapt a children's book, personally it might have been too soon to adapt a book that uses a plot device they just used.

Saw Trolls today and it was very cute , But my 11 year old grandson and I laughed out loud all thru the preview for Boss Baby
Yea there are similar movies out there but so what, this one will make kids happy and ain't nothin wrong with that.(made a Nana grin too)
