Someone Please Get M. Night a Decent Screenwriter

The dialogue in this movie is cringe-worthy, specifically the children's. I don't know what playground M. Night has been hanging around, but kids do not talk like the pseudo-intellectual, pretentious New Yorker reading elitists presented in the movie. I'm not sure if this was deliberate, for comedic effect, but it's distracting as all hell. Even among precocious children, few if any behave in such an annoyingly stilted manner.

Television is a vice; film is an addiction.

I bumped on this, too. It's hard to write kids that age.

I actually found the dialogue very believable and though the kids did a great job.

The kids were great. It was the dialog that let them down. Kids do not talk like that.
