Logan sucked - Logan (2017) Discussion

I personally liked it, but someone at my theater shouted "What the f***?!" at the top of their lungs as the credits started rolling. There was definitely some mumbling, but how do you know it was all negative, and not just about the lack of post-credit scenes?

My theater applauded the ending, but I live in Florida, so that explains that. But wow, what a dog turd boring, repetitive movie. It was like watching 300 starring Wolverine. Cue the slow motion killing spree again. Cue the heavy handed melodrama between each slow motion spinning killing spree. Ugh. Keenan Ivory Waynes should have popped up in those scenes, screaming "Message!"

I really like Bryan Singers X-Men but the thing missing to make a complete Wolverine film was blood, gore, and foul language. I think Singer could have made a decent Wolverine film without a problem. With that said; I really liked Logan. It was just what I was expecting.

I don't talk about BvS. 3 hour Zack Snyder bullshit.

i thought the flaws with BvS were much worse than logan. I really like the direction logan went with. I understand there are some plot holes in it but im willing to except it for how engrossing the overall story was

BvS and Logan are two different universes of quality. Logan was pretty damn great, an edge of your seat thriller with great filmmaking and acting, out of the ordinary in a franchise film like this. Batman vs Superman was all about an untalented director and studio run amok with horrible choices and terrible filmmaking.

BvsS was horrible also! As well as fantastic 4 reboot and Green Lantern.., Bryan Singer did a great job!! And as far as amazing movies X-men 2 and Days of Future I thought were some of the best movies out there

So BvS beats the original Superman (1978)? Let me guess, you don't like old movies? BvS had horrible directing and story. No single character can save a movie if it lacks the basic things that makes a movie good. The original Superman (though it has dated effects), still is able to grab you. BvS never grabs hold. It is posing, and posing badly.

I disagree strongly. I found Wonder Woman captivating and the scene where Batman slams into superman with the batmobile is what I've been dreaming of since I was a kid. I like the old superman movies but come on. They are really dated. I do like them though. I really don't understand why people who like comic books don't like BVS. It's the closest thing I've seen. In fact I bet you don't like comic books

You are very correct, I don't read comic books, but I do like movies, and BvS sure was a lousy example of moviemaking. So was Man of Steel. Granted, we all have different tastes to some degree, but the universal panning this film has received is not accidental. And the praise for Logan is not accidental either. Compare the action scenes in both movies, and you will see the difference. The action in Logan has the hair on your hands standing up, while BvS, at least for me, had me shaking my head (too much cgi - bad visual choices, bad editing, no psychological undertones). The director is unable to make the action scenes involving. It's as simple as that. I have seen Dawn of the dead, 300, watchmen (his best), Man of Steel and BvS. With the exception of a few scenes here and there, he lacks the talent of greater directors.

I disagree completely. But that's fine. BVS elicited a tension in me I have rarely felt while watching a film. No other comic book movie since dark knight got me that involved. I haven't seen Logan so I can't speak to that. Looking forward to justice league. Loved 300. Since you bring up large critical aggregate consensus, (to which there are millions of obvious counter examples) I would just posit that In a hundred years people will watch the iconic BVS and 300. I like the marvel movies, but they are popcorn. They aren't iconic stalwarts like Batman superman and 300

It seems like most people disagree, but that's why these boards are so much fun. I find the marvel movies highly superior, popcorn yes, but the good kind.

Haven't seen suicide squad. Doesn't look very good. I dunno just doesn't interest me. David ayers work has always left me wanting. Street kings was almost amazing. Fury was almost amazing. I don't run to see his films. Not like Snyder. unrelated, I have seen Logan now. Wow! Loved it. Logan def worth seeing good movie
