Mentally inserting other actresses

While watching the movie, I suddenly wanted my mind to insert anyone else instead of Emma Watson who pretty much defended herself with her acting but anyway I thought she was just Hermione's Muggle ancestor! In the town I pictured Emmy Rossum then Anne Hathaway wearing that blue dress so gracefully and while singing along to the film, I mimicked a bit of Emmy and Anne during "Belle"!

For me I thought the following were going to be in it

Anne Hathaway: Belle
Ryan Gosling: Beast/Prince
Hugh Jackman: Gaston
Danny De Vito: Maurice
Jack Black: Lefou
Julie Andrews: Mrs Potts
John Cleese/Patrick Stewart: Cogsworth
Javier Bedum(the lad married to Penolope Cruz): Lumiere.

I kept seeing Jack Black as LeFou too.

I think if the movie were made in the 90's, Bruce Campbell would've been the perfect Gaston.

reply

Definitely Bruce would have been a cool Gaston!

reply

Lumiere could have been Jean Dujardin!

reply

Jack Black should have been Belle

reply

Unfortunately, Julie Andrews can't sing any more. Otherwise she would have been a great Mrs. Potts.

reply

Samantha Barks would have been a good Belle imo. If this movie were made about ten years earlier I'd say Emmy Rossum.

reply

It was never too late for this role! But now Belle's sound and image has been made over into a little kid rather than the mature kind!

reply

In a deleted scene from the animated movie, Belle is shown celebrating her 17th birthday. She was always meant to be young.

Just saw the movie, and I was pretty much doing this the whole time. I always wanted it to be Emmy, but really, even if it had been a talented unknown, I would've been happy.

Emma Watson was okay. Her singing was definitely a lot better than I imagined. She wasn't terrible. But I found her kind of unremarkable.
