I tend not to watch *beep* American uninspired remake crap.

Saw the original a couple of years ago on DVD myself---it dosen't ever seem to have gotten any U.S. distribution, which is why it's not that well known here. Too bad, because it is really good, like you said. The good thing is,it will get a little more interest because of the remake,at least.
