retarded feel-good movie?

i mean srsly who the hell would spend like zillion of $ to build a spaceship to carry sheeps and let 2 sheeps *beep* around with it

reply

Two guys randomly woke up. One of them woke up a woman intentionally. Circumstances forced them to figure out how to "beep" around with the ship. The people who owned the ship did not know that all of this was taking place. There was no "letting" going on.

reply

They explain this in the movie. The company makes money off of them. Rewatch to understand or just move on

It was a metaphor for college. First an institution offers you this pathway to a new life, and the next thing you know is that you're saddled with immense debt. Now pay it up while you work on our planet.

reply

I will die with my college debt still accruing interest, so yes. Well said!

It's just Titanic

in Spaaaaaaace...

Yeah, a lot of movie, maybe even most of them require that you suspend your disbelief to the point that it makes one feel stupid, even retarded. I am a scientist and engineer, and the stupidity of this movie was unavoidable, but we were there, we already paid, and there were some funny things within the silly world the movie created ... it was watchable. Yes, the premise was stupid, but so is something like a zombie movie, and I can enjoy some of them.

I thought Jim was like Tom Hanks' character in Cast Away. What made Cast Away better was we felt what it was like to survive on a deserted island. Passengers didn't provide us with the hardship of survival, but of trying to make do with being alone when all your other needs have been met. The part about murdering Aurora was probably the most troubling, but Jim redeems himself through learning how to use Autodoc as a hibernation pod. Jim's critics were too harsh on him while forgetting Aurora almost killed him with the crowbar. The story was a bit corny in how it all worked out into a happy ending, but I'd give it 7 stars for the music and set design. That part made it seem realistic in riding a starship to a new planet.

reply

Yeah, retarded clichéd crap for mindless pubescents.

Titanic + Pandorum + Gravity + Idiocracy = Passengers

reply

feel-good? I actually felt worried about the sanity of the screenplay writers.

But of course $$ explain everything
