Sick to death of ScarJoh and she's NOT attractive
Please, film industry, stop plugging said actress into roles she is clearly not built for. This film seems to be cranking the 'Japanese cyberpunk' aesthetic up to 11, yet seemingly could not find a Japanese actress to play the film's lead role.
ScarJoh is a decent actress -- liked her in Under the Skin and Lost in Translation. But, she has a very 'indie' specific style, and her presence in "big budget" action flicks has been ho hum.
I'm not here to whinge about "muh whitewashing" -- an utterly ironic position to take on Asian roles being given to non Asian actors, given Asian are thee most racist race of our species... and, in fact, are proud of the dubious distinction! I am here complaining about the casting of actors for roles they're ill-suited for, and which they seem to be 'plugged' into for no other reason than their perceived audience pulling power -- Will Smith, another prime example of said practice (...The "demographic", in this case, being the tween, virgin males... obviously). An imprudent, rapacious philosophy often employed at the expense of the quality of the core product.
Fix your sh!t, Hollyschlock... or risk losing the house. ☠
