Question...

Thinking in terms of when the Angels fell...

They all lost their ability to fly or whatever they do to get from place to place, right?

In the scene where DemonDean was playing cat and mouse in the bunker and has caught up with Sam? Sam finds himself unable to bring himself to use the demon killing knife against him. As DemonDean is preparing to attack and it things weren't looking good for our younger hero - Cas suddenly appears and grabs him by behind. How? Did he run down the hall and grab Dean? Did he tip toe quietly down the hall so as to not be heard and then grab Dean? Or did he teleport because there was a distinct lack of whoosh of feathers. This makes no sense because at that time "The Angels, they're falling!" had already happened - no? Am I remembering this all wrong? Please help... ;)

I've been lurking this past week because the site kicked me off and I couldn't sign in to post... I've been here in spirit tho! ;)

Hmm. I hadn't really thought of that. Maybe Cas was already close, and DemonDean teleported in front of him, DemonDean's sole focus was on Sam, and Cas tip toed the rest of the way? I was never sure how Dean expected Cas to throw him into the sun if Cas can't fly. Was Cas supposed to build a space shuttle and set coordinates for the sun? But then Dean also asked Cas to smite him just before that, and Cas can't do that anymore either. They've really de-powered Cas, haven't they?

reply

They really need to power up Cas. It would make him interesting again. Why can't angels fix their own wings anyway?

reply

The problem is that if they power up Cas again then he would be able to get Dean and Sam out of trouble all the time, they would have to have him off being involved in a separate story line so that he didn't end up a deus ex machina again. Although they really do need to decide what Cas can and can't do as that has been a mess so far this series! Maybe give him back the ability to hop around but not too much else, not sure how it would work to be honest!

reply

Good points! I call crapola on Show overlooking or ignoring Castiels limitations!

Had Cas gotten his mojo back from Metatron by the time Dean asked him to throw him in the sun i.e. build Dean a space shuttle and preset coordinates for the sun? :)

reply

Nope, Dean said that in 10.9, and Cas didn't get his grace back from Metatron until 10.18. He definitely would've had to go the space shuttle route.

reply

Maybe that's what Cas was thinking about in the back of his mind at the end of The Prisoner, escorting Dean to the nearest launch pad.

reply

I thought Castiel snuck up on Dean...

"I've been here in spirit tho! ;)"

Lol, I was wondering where you were! :D

reply

I reckon he could still teleport. He's still weak, but we don't fully appreciate how powered up he was at the time. Time had passed since the angels fell so I guess he was healing at a quicker rate than what we first thought. Cas has that ability to be able to move quickly and I seem to remember that we were shown the state of angels wings when Gadreel showed his black tatty wings. So some power was still there but not fully booted power.

reply

Yeah cas seemed too keep his teleporting powers as did most of them or during his time as Jimmy learned sneaking.

reply

I don't think he could teleport during the cat and mouse ep tho because earlier on he was driving around everywhere in his gold pimp mobile. I'm kinda thinking it was an error on Shows part. I don't think Cas should have been able to appear like that to save Sam at the last minute. The only one able to teleport at that time would be DemonDean.

Aly, can you tell me if your issues logging in had something to do with an unverified email address?
I'm trying to help a poster from Bella's board who wants to sign up and is having difficulty. I was wondering if it was the same problem and how you managed to solve it. Thanks in advance.

reply

No, it's just one day it just kicked me off. I didn't have a problem signing back on, my problem was locating my password cause I couldn't remember it off the top of my head. Once I input the required info I was good to go.

Thank you :)

You're right, Cas didn't teleport. At the end of the episode he tells Dean there's a female outside in his car; so he and Hannah must have driven to the bunker. Also, when Sam called, Cas tells Sam he and Hannah are a couple of hours away. The demon cure required one injection of purified blood every hour- so from when Sam calls Cas to when he finds Dean has escaped, at least 1+ hours has passed. I think we were supposed to assume that it took the same amount of time for Dean to get injected, escape, hunt and catch up to Sam as it took for Cas and Hannah to be confronted by Adina, rescued by Crowley, and finish driving to the bunker. As others have said, I think Cas just snuck up on Dean, who was preoccupied with Sam.
