Yeah, that part of the doc was one of the scariest because it's real. The whole thing about a bunch of companies in Cambridge copyrighting DNA code and such.....yikes.

What's really scary is that the American Eugenics Movement (funded by American corporate philanthropies), which started at the turn of the century, came to the attention of Adolf Hitler in the early 1920s, as their eugenic crusades proliferated into a worldwide campaign, and during the pre-war years, American eugenicists openly supported Germany's program.

The Rockefeller Foundation financed the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute and the work of its central racial scientists. One of the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute doctors in the program financed by the Rockefeller Foundation was Josef Mengele who continued his research in Auschwitz, making daily eugenic reports on twins.

And then, after the Nazi atrocities, the American eugenics movement — its institutions and leading scientists — renamed and regrouped under the banner of an enlightened science called human genetics.

So yeah, no one needs to be owning our genes.
