Yes Caesar was awful but...

I wanted him to stop those two from betraying and destroying him. It just seemed so unjustified and I couldn't help but sympathise a lot more with him than with Violet and Corky. I don't like that we're expected to cheer for these two women who betray, murder and rob this guy with no repercussions or consequences. Yes he's a bad guy, but these are bad girls who get away with the same kind of crimes he had been committing and was betrayed and killed for. They're women so they deserve to get away with murder and money they had no claim to? They get the happy ending after that? Why couldn't one have betrayed the other at the end?

Then you would have been complaining about how one person gets away with everything.

Poorly Lived and Poorly Died, Poorly Buried and No One Cried

"...betraying and destroying him...." ?????? He was a monster! lol.

It's an edgy love story...the Lovers must end up together.

reply

They did the same sort of monstrous things he was doing but they didn't get punished for it

reply

True.....but the Girls' payoff was Freedom...Together. Love is Strange. I always root for the Lovers. lol.

reply

I didn't want to root for Caesar because as you say, he was a monstrous person but they seemed almost as monstrous to me and I found it hard to root for them either
