Bad Blood with Luke Wilson as the Sheriff

This is one of my favorite episodes. Luke Wilson does a good job playing a caricature of a good ol boy redneck Sheriff.

Scully and Mulder each remember different accounts of what happened and each tells their story. And it's funny.

This episode is about vampires. The X file duo set out to investigate strange exsanguinations of cows and people in a small town of under 400. Scully is infatuated with the sheriff, who has buck teeth according to Mulder, but not according to Scully. Mulder chases down a vampire and drives a stake through his heart. Scully arrives on the scene seconds later and discovers he is wearing fake vampire teeth. Fearing Mulder will go to prison they are discussing the case and the two stories are told. Then the body of the man Mulder killed wakes up in the morgue and attacks the pathologist before leaving. So the duo goes back to the town to investigate further. It is a funny story.

Sly and beguiling. Bad Blood is a great ep. Scully's reaction and Mulder's perception of the vampire are hilarious.

Instant gratification takes too long.

Bad Blood is definitely a fan favorite. It's in my top 3, for sure.

Imdb definitely agree with you. This episode is rated as the greatest x-files episode ever.

I've always been particularly fond of Mulder's vision of himself as a kindly genius. Patient, tolerant, inclusive, as opposed to the arrogant, self-obsessed loner he so often in reality is. His timidity in showing Scully the slideshow, terrified of her scorn. For my money Duchovny's best performance in the entire series.

One thing that would have been nice is if they also showed how Skinner sees Mulder & Scully.

I hate to rain on the parade but what would we be if we didn't have differing opinions. Honestly this is one of my least favorite episodes and it's BECAUSE of things like Luke's redneck cliche and the silliness.

reply

no problem. There are no "correct" opinions.

Unfortunately to a lot of people there are, but you people on the X-files boards are going to be the ones I miss the most.

Yeah I know. I blame that on cultural Marxism, aka political correctness, the movement to have everyone holding the same opinions, saying the same things, following like lemmings.

I grew up in America where everyone has the right to his own opinion, and people don't have to run to a safe space when someone disagrees with them. I don't force others to agree with me and I expect the same from them. But it doesn't matter if they try to force me or not. I think for myself.

I run into some of them on these boards from time to time. I voice my opinion on some aspect of a show and one of these thought police attacks me, telling me I should leave, insults me, implies I am stupid, and so on.
People who cannot control their emotions always have to control other people's behavior. They have been indoctrinated with that group think, global values nonsense.
You can't hold a conversation with them about facts. I have tried. They don't know how to discuss issues, they just insult you and think they have won.
There is something seriously wrong with people like that.
you people on the X-files boards are going to be the ones I miss the most.

What do you mean? Are they shutting down the discussion boards or something?
UPDATE: Dammit I just read they are shutting down the discussion boards.
That is a STUPID idea.
Anybody know of another similar site which has the discussion boards?
I am sure the traffic at IMDB will drop off to nothing as soon as they kill the boards.

Yes very funny. I thought the ending where they were crawling towards them with glowing eyes as very freaky.
