Starting a thread directed at one person is pretty much the opposite of ignoring them.
You're just telling them that they succeeded in pushing your buttons so they will keep doing it.
Ignore means you ignore them. i.e. pretend they don't exist.

And you just basically bumped his thread to the top to draw even more attention to it. lol

It was already in the top 10, but that is something that goes with a public message board. You can address it to one person, but it's not email. Anyone can see it and anyone can reply.

Ok, keep doing what you have been doing and expecting different results.
That is not how the world works, but it's your choice.

I have no idea if I am being followed. I see familiar names at other boards but that could be because they like the same shows, I wouldn't automatically assume they are following me. If I had someone on ignore, the last thing I would do is alert them that they were annoying me. because that is their goal. You just gave this person a big present by calling them out.
If you can't see their posts, then you really can't know if they are posting anything flaggable. They might just be saying " I like that show too", and that is not something you could report. I know there are no rules yet, but I am assuming there will never be a rule against posting a completely innocuous reply.
You should just ignore them.

You're pretty much calling him for attention

Not really. I mean more people would probably end up doing it.

It's really a tough call. The owner and the entrusted moderators would care if people left this site, but there truly is no incentive in having people stay. Does this site make money off you? No. IMDb makes HUGE amounts of money off movie related crews, actors, actresses, etc. as donors. It is your own free will that you are here and not on some other website.

Suit yourself. There is no courtesy in this world. Words do not mean anything. You pretty much have to take them by the back of their head and slam it a few times. That would get the message across. Have a good night in cyberspace.
