MAVERICK !!!!!!

My all time favorite show was Maverick....especially with James Garner. It would come on Sunday night. Of course we didn't have a very good reception on the TV....and there I would sit with these rabbit ear antennas I. My hand trying to get a clear picture which was almost impossible. Lol. James Garner was my all time favorite actor and his picture was plastered all over my bedroom. At that time you used to send a letter to Warner Brothers and they would send pics of your favorite actor. I was a big western fan back then. Did anyone else love Maverick?....

My all-time favorite Western hero.

One of my very favorite series.

The best of the episodes were some of the cleverest I've ever seen on TV: Like Shady Deal at Sunny Acres, Gun-Shy (a Gunsmoke parody), Pappy, and The Day They Hanged Bret Maverick.

I loved Maverick! I loved James Garner in everything he did...in fact I named my son Jason after his charecters in the short series Nichole's. My best friend beat me to the name Bret, with her son!!!

Still a show I love to watch and scour the TV guide looking for it. The first episode I watched was because it had a young James Garner in it and I stumbled across it while channel surfing. While I thoroughly enjoyed Bret(Garner), my preference for the Bart(Kelly) surpassed those featuring Bret. Of course, episodes containimg both brothers are, easily, my favorites.

Also like seeing Richard Long(Jerrod/The Big Valley, Professor/Nanny and the Professor) as a recurring character(gentleman Jim Dandy?) Along with Doc Holiday and the Irishman(Big Mike?) who was in the pilot and later episodes, and last, but certainly not least, Dianne Brewster. Never cared for Roger Moore or the other actors brought in after Garner's departure but still watch out of love for the show. I also enjoyed the movie adaptation starring Mel Gibson, Jody Foster and James Garner but it can't compete with the TV series.
