Favorite Tenor?

Mine would be Pavarotto. How about yours?

Franco Corelli.

You're my wife now.

I'd have to say Placido Domingo, because he's one of the few who can excel in the Italian repertoire while still being fairly serviceable as a Wagnerian tenor.

Fritz Wunderlich. I'm not even super-fond of tenors, let alone German tenors, but he was marvelous. Second, maybe Alfredo Krauss.

reply

Lols. I am not fond of sopranos. :)

Without soprano divas there would probably be no opera. But I respect your feelings, shared by many.

There are some operas where male characters predominate, though, aren't there?

Actually it's not that I don't think tenors sound beautiful. It's just that I find baritone and bass voices more masculine and attractive. This should go under the sexy classical music thread.

If I had to choose, Lauritz Melchior.

I have problems understanding sopranos. I don't like female singers as much as like male singers anyway - which include baritones and basses.
