This album that defined the neo soul genre was released twenty years ago today. What are your thoughts on it?

I still have this CD, I love it and I even love the live album as well. This Baduizm album made me a huge fan of Erykah its a classic that is all I can say.

My favorite songs from the album is...

"4 leaf clover"
"drama"
"on & on"
"sometimes"
"certainly"
"next lifetime"

I love that record. I remember when Badu first hit the scene with that big head wrap and an actor (Billy Crystal, I think) made a joke about one of the missing Oscar awards being hidden in it.  One of the many things I love about Badu is how she refuses to be pigeon-holed into any one genre. She's always evolving and growing.

My fave Baduizm tracks:

On & On ("Cuz you did not do your math!" )
Drama
The Otherside of the Game
Next Lifetime
No Love
Appletree
Certainly
4 Leaf Clover

My first Erykah Badu album was Worldwide Underground and I thought Erykah was cool but my first actual Erykah Badu song I really liked was the song Bag Lady and I liked the beat of it. I remember seeing Erykah Badu's debut album in Walmart and had always wanted it but each time I went to Walmart it disappeared and when I finally saw it Walmart wanted $12,99 for it and so I got another Erykah Badu cd called Icon I liked it a lot and it features a lot of the songs from her debut album on it and it also had Bag Lady too. I think Erykah Badu is really talented and she is truly an ace at singing and writing lyrics
