Night MLB or NFL games

What are the EV levels at a typical nighttime major league baseball or national football league game? Thanks.

You could always take a light meter if you really want to know. Why do you ask?

Just curious. I take photos of local high school sports, including nighttime football. Those lighting conditions are . . . challenging and I was wondering what they were at the major league level. For my shooting, both indoor and outdoor at night the EV values are about seven, give or take.

I could take my camera and run a few test shots to find out, but a major league baseball or football game is not in my immediate future. I was hoping to get some information here.

It will be slightly better than high school sports, but probably not much. You'd need a fast long lens, ideally something like a 600mm f2.8 if you want pictures to a professional standard, plus a camera that is OK at high ISO.

Thanks for that. I use a Canon 1DX Mk II and, for the indoor and nighttime sports, commonly shoot at ISO 20,000. My usual lenses for these shoots are the Canon 70-200mm f2.8 and 400mm f4.
