Role-Play Idea (Star Wars Universe)

Hello everyone. I'm just gonna bite the bullet and jump right in here. I had a super weird dream a few weeks ago that I think would make a great role-play, preferably semi-literate and possibly with limited characters, but we'll see how it goes.

Anyway, the dream goes like this. A team of Jedi (4-6, maybe 10 max) are sent on a quest to retrieve a powerful artifact. Cassian from Rogue One ends up being their pilot. They go through a few twists and turns that I don't want to spoil for you, but we can certainly make up more as we go along. I'd have to flesh it out a bit more for the role-play itself, and toy with the timing a bit, since it would need to take place between Episode II and Rogue One, probably roughly the Clone Wars Era but I've never seen that show so that isn't all that helpful...

Anyway, would anyone be at all interested in this? Role-playing here, on this board, text-only, and based on this rough idea which I will go into more detail with if people show interest. If you've never been in a forum-based role-play before and have questions about how it works, feel free to ask.

EDIT 2: You know what? I'm just gonna post it (The Jedi's Quest). I got myself excited about it, and already have my characters set to go. I might make another one with a different theme later.

I know you'll see this come up on your notifications and probably get excited so I just want to apologize for that....I'm not big into Star Wars really so I'm not a good one to participate in this. However, your dream sounded pretty cool and detailed! I wish I could dream like that on a somewhat regular basis and even remember it well enough to put it into thought for a game.

I hope you get some people on board for this, I'm sure you'd make it a lot of fun. This is where I'd insert some kind of SW reference, but I do not want to embarrass myself nor hurt your fan-soul so I shall end it with a hearty GOOD LUCK!

Oh well. Thanks for reading it and commenting, at least! We could try something else, maybe; either in addition to this or instead. What kinds of things do you like? This is where PMs would be useful, lol.

I'm not gonna be stickler for canon/non-canon or whatever to begin with. I'll probably need to alter Cassian's backstory a little for this to work anyway, and our idea of the Force doesn't need to be perfect.

EDIT: If you don't like Star Wars, would you be interested in a Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings themed role-play?

reply

Sorry, just getting to this now.....I'm not into enough of those types of fandoms to ever be good at RPG, really. My bad if this led you on in anyway, I just wanted to be supportive!

reply

Oh well. Thanks for being supportive anyway.

Is there anything you would be interested in trying out an rp for? If not, that's fine. I just want to revive this forum if at all possible.

reply

I don't really know how it works to be honest...I'm trying to think of the things I like, haha...there's lots, I just don't know if they're right for this kind of thing because they don't totally occupy that fantasy landscape and I know that's what these are mostly used for.

That just happens to not be my most favorite genre for whatever reason so all the best ones for RPG are sort of out of my grasp. I don't think I'd be very good at it anyways, haha, I think I'm more apt for discussion :P

There can be role-plays for anything, honestly. I just prefer fantasy and sci-fi. Otherwise maybe historical fiction or adventure. *shrug*

Of course I'd be willing to answer any questions you have about role-playing in general, and do my best to guide you through the process. If you still don't want to, though, that's perfectly fine.

Nah, it's fine. I like getting responses, even if they end up off-topic--as long as it isn't spamming. And yes, I had a dream about Cassian. Whether he's a Space Romeo or not is another question. XD

Ah. I wasn't aware of that, no. Thanks for warning me.

Back on topic?

No problem. That's also where PMs would be useful, lol.

Anyway, would you be interested in this role-play? Or are you more curious about my dream?

Oh well. The rp really doesn't have that much to do with R1; more Jedi in general and random Star Wars stuff, lol. I don't want to go too much in detail about my dream yet, though, because I don't want to spoil the rp. C;
You could just lurk the rp for a bit and see if it perks your interest, when/if I post it...

EDIT: You know what I can tell you? There's a labyrinth at some point with a bunch of odd traps, an ominous prophesy, and dire consequences for stealing the artifact with malicious intent. I was honestly amazed that my brain came up with this while I was asleep. Last year, I had an awesome dream about a weird crossover between X-Men and Dauntless training from Divergent. That was interesting. I made an rp based on that one on another site, lol.

Lol, it's okay. I love it when my dreams seem like movies in my mind.

And for that dream, it didn't actually have any of the direct characters from either, just very similar personalities and powers. A bald old man with mind-related powers took in children with powers and trained them. However, it wasn't the nice academy that Xavier had. It was a lair hidden deep in the mountains. He gave them various tests in the style of Dauntless (physical training and fear simulations). If they didn't pass, he kicked them out in the snow to die or ordered one of the older students to kill them. If they did pass, their training grew more strenuous. Once they reached a certain point, he sent them out to commit crimes such as raids or assassinations. One of his favorite students was pretty much Wolverine without the claws: rapid healing and strong. In my dream, Wolverine-person saved a girl who failed from being killed by hiding her in an abandoned cabin. Another part of dream was that a group of them went to raid a Canadian store. Wolverine-person filled up a thermos with whiskey. They left with money and maple-themed goods.
