Horror/Slasher RPG Old Timers from 2006-2010- Feeling Nostalgic

Jesus, I haven't been on this site in YEARS. Haven't posted in what feels like a decade. I was one of the RPG players here back in 2006- back when the Final Destination 3, Black Christmas, and Scream boards was swirling with horror/slasher RPGs. They were so much fun to read and participate in and I even tried my hand at a good number of them myself but I never finished many of them lol. I wrote a Strangers RPG and a Final Girls rpg(with several final girls from different horror films being targeted by a killer- it was quite dreadful now looking back).

Basically, I'm feeling nostalgic. It's been ten years since I've first came on this board and I spent a good amount of my teenhood reading the different slasher rpgs here and it's sad that it has changed. Are there any of you old timers that still have some of your old rpgs? I'd love to relive the old days and re-read some. I know rietje-1 used to have a site where people could repost their finished rpgs and I posted both my Strangers and Final Girls rpg there but I don't know if that site is still up.

I remember quite a few of you (magic-400, Ri, dms10, Speeders, horrorfan45 ect).

I'd love to re-read Ri's Prom Night rpg that she did on the Prom Night 2008 board way back when before the movie came out. Speeders Graduation Night Or dms10's Final Prom or Magic's Screams Of Halloween or Revenge Of The Hook Series. Or any other good ole' IMDB slasher rpgs from years past *rubs hands together*

God, I wish this place was like it was 10 years ago. Btw, I went by TwistedFate_L4

Other notable RPGS I'd like to re-read if still around-

Return To Woodsboro series
Winter Scream series
It's All One Big Movie series

I don't know if you remember me, but I wrote a few RPG´S (Goon Road trilogy and Nightwing with Ri). Sadly I have nothing saved.I do miss the old days though. Good times.

Oh yes Dino, I still remember you. If anything I'm the one that probably isn't remembered too much. Although I was around and did try and start a ton of rpgs(A billion Final Destination ones, a few Scream ones, A Blair Witch one, a One Missed Call One, Black Christmas ect) I mostly either played or read along. The RPG IMDB wiki is still up and your Goon Road pages are still up. Sad to see you lost the stories though- I'd love to read them.

I wouldn't be surprised if everyone lost everything. It's been so many years. I remember saving some RPGs on my old computer but then that crapped out on me years back and well, that was that. I crave those good times we used to have. I see some people have tried to re-start the RPG craze but many of them just don't have time like they used too and I understand. Back then most of us were in high school and now we're adults with jobs, careers, and responsibilities so we don't exactly have all day to sit at a computer and write an RPG.

So many talented writers and so many fun stories back then. I truly regret not savoring that time.

I do miss the old days, but in a way I'm glad I got away from the RPG's. I'm enjoying my script writing more. The RPG's were fun and all and they did help me improve mt writing, but I got a little tired of trying to appease the players when they asked me if I could/could not do this or that or people not playing, etc. At least with the scripts I can tell the story I want the way I want to tell it. Nice to know Goon Road lives on somewhere other than my mind. It is sad I lost those stories, but you could say I've moved on to bigger and better things.

I agree no one really has time anymore. Real life always came first though. We had plenty of good times and I'm glad I was a part of it.

If you're really feeling nostalgic and looking for something to read I do have something I'm looking for feedback on. If you're interested I could PM it to you. Don't feel obligated to say yes or anything. Just figured I'd ask.

Totally. PM me! I'd love to read and give you feedback on it.

And you are correct. I think writing fan fiction and RPGs at that time was good as it helped us all develop a hunger for writing but these days I'd rather put my efforts and ideas into original works for myself. Not to mention RPGs were quite difficult to write- especially when you had to try and make other people's characters fit into your vision of the story without tampering too much with their personalities and the player's expectations. But yeah go ahead and send me your project!
