Why does Reality TV exist?

Because people are voyeurs.

People are voyeurs because they can't think of anything to lead their own lives.
People that can't do, watch.

Sit-coms and reality shows that aren't really real and peoples personal lives being sold as entertainment is f'ed up.

I think people love reality shows because it makes them feel better about their own lives. Especially the ones with people beating each other up, cheating on their SI's, etc. Makes the viewers feel like their lives aren't so bad after all.
