Are Geico Ads too Subtle?


Maybe I am slow or don't pay enough attention.

But the Ice Tea commercial I kept thinking what is the point? Why is Ice Tea saying "It's lemon aide people.."? Final, oh they were talking about him. duh.

And then there was the one with the Gecko who is talking about everything being CGI. "Even this coffee is CGI". Well Duh, so is the Gecko.

I'd like to see a sequel where someone asks, "Arnold Palmer?" (Ice-T and lemonade).

I got the Ice T ad right away as well as the CGI one. However, I'm not liking the one with the man and woman on the plate. The one where the man with the lute tries to play a Smashmouth song for the woman on the balcony. It's not subtle, just stupid.

There's another one now set in an antique shop that focuses in on a clock with moving figures, primarily two guys sawing a log. One guy asks the other how long they've been working on the log and the other says, "about 140 years", except the arm is attached to the body with a hex screw and hex screws haven't been around that long.
