If time travel, forward or backward, were possible, but you had no way of controlling where you ended up, what era would you HOPE you ended up in ??? 

Late 15th century in the Americas with plenty of vaccines and "AKs" for the locals.

Time travel forwards is possible now. Look up time dilation.
