Avatar 2 2020 Release?

I'm thinking Avatar 2 may be looking at a Christmas 2020 release. Mainly because it looks like Disney has a hold on the Holiday season for the next 3 years with Star War movies and Avatar 2 doesn't seem anywhere near close to being ready for a release. Plus, I think it would be a mistake to release this movie anytime outside of the Christmas holiday season or up against a Star Wars film.

James Cameron has discovered the key to immortality. Expect Avatar 2 sometime towards the end of next decade.

I have a very long ignore list

I think the current plan is for winter 2018 for Avatar 2 with that years' Star Wars movie (the Han Solo prequel) set for Summer. But release dates for one or both of those films could change.

rumor is that the Solo prequel is moving to Christmas 2018 (?) If so, I imagine Avatar 2 is being pushed to 2020

But Disney has scheduled Marry Poppins Returns for Christmas 2018...

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2017/01/29/james-cameron-on-the-trump-administration-these-people-are-insane.htmlI’ve just finished the script to Avatar 5. I’m now starting the process of active prep. I’ll be working with the actors in the capture volume in August, so I’m booked in production every day between now and then. Our volume is up and running, and everything is designed, and so we’re going full-guns right now.

Wow, he's only 62? I thought he was like 75. Guess he actually probably has plenty of time to make these.

I can't help feeling that it's going to be another case of a simple story wildly overcomplicated and dragged out over far too many films by a director who's lost sight of the story in all the worldbuilding and a studio that's indulging him because it'll bring in more moolah.

"Security - release the badgers."

Instead, it may be even worse since the plot of of avatar 2-5 may be the same story and message that can easily be contained in one film stretched into 4. Hobbit at least needed 2 films to tell its story (though not 3).
