Why do cats love to sit on computer keyboards?

He's sitting next to me now and I have to keep pushing him away. If I walk away
for a moment, he's climbing on top of it, and I wind up with a line of iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis or something. What is the attraction?

I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!

They desperately want your attention. 

It could be worse. My cat was recently sleeping regularly in his litter tray.

Have you played Atari today?

Cats love attention. He sees you giving a lot of attention to the keyboard and not to him. So he decides the best way to get you to pay attention to him is to sit on the keyboard that you are giving the attention he wants.

I don't know what they have to say. It makes no difference anyway. Whatever it is, I'm against it.

He's trying to cutoff your access to the outside world, but seriously like others have said cats love attention and hate it when you ignore them.
