55% (23 of 43) of the titles are from the New Century. That is totally ridiculous considering that the past 16 years only represents about 14% of the time since what is normally referred to as “Hollywood” has existed; not to mention the very long history of American wars and war movies from that Hollywood tradition. If you absolutely want to include newer films, then 5 (14% of 35) should be the highest total of post-year 2000 films.

My suggestion is to remove all 23 of the New Century films. That will leave you with 15 to add from the pre-year 2000 period. Those titles could be supplied by requesting them from members of this board and/or the Classic Film Board. I would be delighted to chip in.

For example:

The Big Parade (1925) / King Vidor 8.3
All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) / Lewis Milestone 8.1
The Dawn Patrol (1930) / Howard Hawks 7.9
Hell's Angels (1930) / Howard Hughes 7.8
Twelve O'Clock High (1949) / Henry King 7.8
Mister Roberts (1955) / John Ford, Mervyn Leroy 7.8
