Is Carrie dies, will there be no more new Star Wars trilogy?

Do you think the new Star Wars trilogy is canceled because of Fisher's heart attack? Is it possible she could pass on?

reply

Without trying to sound callous towards her and her unfortunate ailment, the trilogy will be just fine without her. Episode 8 is already completed filming, they're just doing post production now. We don't know what character development they had for Leia throughout episode 8, but if there was anything substantial going on, the only movie in jeopardy would be episode 9. If so, they still have PLENTY of time to do some rewrites to work around her absence. They haven't even begun filming on that one yet and wont for a while (end of 2017, start of 2018).

I think she'll recover

Do you think the new Star Wars trilogy is canceled because of Fisher's heart attack? She didn't suffer a heart attack. She suffered cardiac arrest. The new trilogy won't likely be cancelled "because" of her death.

Is it possible she could pass on? With adequate information, anybody would've surmised that she would pass on. Her heart had been stopped for over five minutes, and her health was already somewhat frail, so her brain cells likely died in that time, meaning that she basically died on the airplane, even though her body was and could be kept alive by medical equipment.

I feel her death should be mention near the beginning with a burning burial where she died in battle rescuing hostages or even trying to reach her son. It seems that would be more respectable to fans and the character.
