RESOLVED: Need to delete a film that doesn't exist

While the communication line still exists.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0024677/combined

The title of this never-existed film is : Tom's in Town (1933)
Cast: Raymond Hatton
Country: USA
Language: English
Aspect Ratio: 1.37:1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all, there isn't anymore. It meets no standard for listing but it's here, so I'll give the reasons it doesn't exist and shouldn't be here.

It's probably a very early listing that got in, as Jon Reeves was fond of pointing out, "under less strident standards" and most likely was gleamed from an AFI catalogue. The site, in the early days had many such listings, and it must have been overlooked in a clean-up-the-AFI-mess program conducted by a few early-day contributors.

The 1930s AFI catalogue had (and still has) many incorrect listings of this type....just a name and a title. We missed this one.

"Tom's in Town" was a proposed title (probably announced in a trade paper as Universal reports Raymond Hatton has been assigned a role in "Tom's in Town) for a Tom Mix western from Universal called "Terror Trail".

"Tom's in Town(1933)" needs to be deleted from the site. And, no, it should not be shown as a working title for "Terror Trail"

I'm not sure GetSat is set up to handle long explanations.

jeorj,

I went there and was told I already had such a request. That's news to me. My last help board message was six days ago(from a staffer) and then back in 2015(also from a staffer.)

I guess it was submitted for me by someone else.

When you went to the "Title Deletion Request" link, instead of showing the form, did it tell you you have unread messages or open requests from the Help Desk? Just open them. The "Title Deletion Request" form will appear.

"Title Deletion Request": http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/report_titledeletion.

Motley,

Thanks, but there was no "instead."

1. I didn't go to the link.
2. I went to the Help Board to see my messages.
3. It said I had an open request.
4. I opened it. (why wouldn't I?). I've rode that range a few times.
5. I filled out the form.
6. I submitted (sent) it.

I expect to soon hear that "Tom's in Town(1933)" no longer has an IMDb page.

And thanks to Meredith at the Help Desk, "Tom's in Town(1933) no longer has a site page, or won't in a few days.
