Is there a limit to the number of reviews that IMDB allows you?

It seems to me that the number of reviews that this site lists me as having remains
static despite the fact that I occasionally add new reviews.
Is there a limit on how many reviews you can have on this site?

There isn't any limit that I know of, but those stats haven't been updated in several years, despite many promises to do so.

Going on the numbering of my reviews, I do actually have 262 reviews on this site, but, like I said originally, I've been adding to my reviews and that number stays the same. So, it seems it's not a case, like you're suggesting, that my stats are staying the same but my reviews are being increased...it looks like IMDB is really capping the number of my reviews and removing some other reviews of mine to keep my total at 262. That's really poor form by them. Now I have no idea which reviews of mine they're removing from my list. That's really pathetic on IMDB's part.

No we do not have a limit on the number of reviews as shown by ACT_1, this number reflects the current number of live reviews on the site. If you add another review this will be reflected in your total number. It is possible that some of your older reviews may have been removed if they breach any of our policies which may have reduced the overall count. My reviews don't ordinarily get removed due to breaches of IMDB policy here. For quite a while now now I've noticed that when I post up a review, the total number of my reviews remains unchanged and having recently checked the numbering on my list of reviews here, it does seem that there must be reviews which are being removed to keep that total number of reviews of mine constant...but I do not see any new movies being added to any list of mine of deleted (by IMDB) movies...so, something weird seems to be happening here.

Unfortunately not. I've just noticed that the last few times that I've submitted a review, the number for the total number of reviews that I've got here has stayed the same.

Not sure...maybe I've got copies of my all of my reviews...at least up until the most recent ones. In any case, I don't have it in a form which makes comparing its content to IMDB's content easy...it would be a laborious task to do a comparison, I think.

The annoying this is I specifically posted my reviews here after The Movie Show site had some some users say that it was going to close down...the site itself never informed anyone that that would happen, I don't think, so a lot users lost their reviews, I'm sure. I thought that by moving my reviews here, I could avoid the whims of website admins and losing content because the site could close down.

Really disappointing that IMDB plays silly buggers like this.



Once I would have been the touchstone for obsessive IMDb user commenting.
