I don't go as far to say "Can't Stand" them but:
Fassbender & Hardy are two actors I've seen little or nothing from yet they get all the acclaim in the world.
Now, there are 2 films I've yet to see, Shame & Bronson, but I've seen enough to know these guys are average at best.
Fassbender was excellent in Fishtank, but nothing else that I've seen, same for Hardy.
I don't get all the love.
But all that said, I don't hate them, just hate hearing about them.
Hardy is decent, but his accent is too exaggerated in my opinion and he always looks pissed off. Plus, from what I heard, he is a pretencious prick (and I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually true). This been said, I like him. Wouldn't put him in my top 10 or even 20, but he is good compared to a lot of actors of his generation.
Fassbender in another hand, I think that he lacks charisma. I don't know it's like if even if I know he's there and is doind his thing, I feel that he is not there at all. I don't really care about him. But just like you I don't "hate" him.
Definitely agree with not liking Roman Polanski.
It's terrible that the media backs him. If he was an unknown then the Hollywood people would be on the bandwagon against him.
I am indeed really surprise that after that he could continue working and even winning an Oscar. Like you said, if it wasn't from the fact that he is really tallented, he would've definitely been out of the game for a long time now and no producers would accept to work with him. The fact that he is still working is really over my comprehension. Just like for Woody Allen (a case that I personally find way less disturbing), I guess sometimes having tallent gives you a free pass (if I am not mistaken they are both banned from USA though).

Personal lives in general dont matter to me. But these people have publically done despicable things and thus I dislike them. A lot.
I think Polanski is scum, but I'd never say he's a bad director. I never said he was a bad director, either. How could I ? First thing I actually ever came across with Polanski was actually his autobiography and I read the first chapter, which was exactly about this incident. Ever since I've religiously avoided anything with that guy in it. Thus I have no friggin clue how good or bad he is, and I also really dont care.
