SAUL FIA shows only SAUL AUSLÄNDER (the protagonist)'s point of view. No, it's not a found footage movie. The camera doesn't replace his eyes; it shows mostly his face and the people near him. It's a very interesting approach that allows the viewer to feel present in the scene. Since the things that SAUL can't see aren't shown, we're able to feel his confusion and dispair. Géza Röhrig's excellent performance helps a lot. He's able to say everything just with his eyes. Unfortunately, the plot was better suited for a short film. It's too repetitive. It feels longer than 110 minutes, which ends up ruining the emotional impact.

SAUL FIA muestra solo el punto de vista de SAUL AUSLÄNDER (el protagonista). No, no es una película de metraje encontrado. La cámara no reemplaza sus ojos; se muestra más que nada su cara y a la gente cerca de él. Es un enfoque muy interesante que le permite al espectador sentirse presente en la escena. Ya que las cosas que SAUL no puede ver no se muestran, somo capaces de sentir su confusión y desesperación. La excelente actuación de Géza Röhrig ayuda mucho. Él es capaz de decirlo todo con solo sus ojos. Desafortunadamente, la trama era más apropiado para un cortometraje. Es demasiado repetitiva, lo que termina arruinando el impacto emocional.

Again , I agree with your assessment of this one. Whilst the approach was unusual and it may have worked, though in the end it was limited perhaps in its scope for variety, and it became way too repetitive to the point of boredom for me, and in the end the emotional impact was minimal.

I hated it. It received an enormous amount of praise, including for its "brilliant and innovative camerawork", but I don't know what is so special about pointing a shaky camera at the protagonist's back for half of the duration of the movie.
