Nice list. I've seen and enjoyed all of them, with the exception of "Your Name" (which I have not yet seen) and "Lowlife Love" (which I disliked).

Thanks for the feedback mate.
Your Name is really fantastic, I was lucky they were showing it near me on a one off screening.
Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Lowlife Love. I really dug it.

At this point in time, I would struggle to make a top 10 list of Asian films that are badged '2016' without throwing in two or three to just make up the numbers - instead, I'll offer up my list of a dozen favourites that were released/became available in Australia during 2016:

After the Storm Umi yori mo mada fukaku (2016)
The Handmaiden Ah-ga-ssi (2016)
Heart Attack Freelance: Ham puay... Ham phak... Ham rak mor (2015)
Himeanole Himeanôru (2016)
Mountain Cry (2015)
Our Little Sister Umimachi Diary (2015)
Paths of the Soul Kang rinpoche (2015)
Port of Call Daap hyut cam mui (2015)
Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016)
Sweet Red Bean Paste An (2015)
Train to Busan Busanhaeng (2016)
The Wailing Goksung (2016)

Of the films on your list, the only one of those that I've seen but didn't made my list was Trivisa. If I was to criticise it, I would say that I felt that the interspersing of the separately-directed scenes didn't always work as cohesively as it should - but that is in no way to say that I didn't think it was a good film, rather it was squeezed out by films I appreciated more.

My short list:

1. The Wailing & Himeanole (Tie) Both great films!

I haven't seen Age of Shadows and Your Name, which could place.

I have seen The Mermaid (most of it); The Tunnel; Inside Men; The Handmaiden; Train To Busan; Shin Godzilla; After the Storm and wouldn't consider them for a Top Ten. The Korean films were sort of Hollywood crud to me, Godzilla was kinda cool but such a chore to read. After the Storm, probably my biggest disappointment--not that it was super bad, but Koreeda is one of my Favorite directors. I wanted more than it offered. The Mermaid is a HK comedy.

I have only seen six films from 2016 but liked all of them.

Train To Busan
The Wailing
I Am a Hero
Seoul Station
Sadako v Kayako
Buppha Rahtree: A Haunting in Japan

I watched The Handmaiden a few days ago & that one is brilliant... I have watched 50 Asian films so far this year and it is the best out of all of them.
