Today Broadway in Chicago annouced a return of Wicked to Chicago after which will be a 4 year hiatus. And it will run at the Oriental Theatre the dates are December 6, 2017 - January 21, 2018. It last played at the same theater October 30, 2013 - December 21, 2013. And that was also the first theater that had a sit down prodiuction of it doing a 3 and half year run.

I don't know why you are confused it should mean as it sounds, they there were a sit down production of the show much like Hamilton is now where it ran for a few years before it closed. Any other production of it has been a touring production of it, where it tours around the country.
