Upcoming Indie Film Festival

Hello to all. I am a woman who holds many hats: radio show host, journalist, book author, teacher, model, and freelance editor and reviewer. As to the film side, I am a filmmaker, judge, and screener. In 2017, I am founding my own indie film festival. I am blessed to know many people in the industry and with enough work and backing, this will be a successful venture.

Hence, let me offer some details for anyone interested. Art is Alive Film Festival will take place in June of 2017, Friday to Sunday. Location to be either Canada or NYC. I will accept up to no more than 250 submissions, and categories are as follows: horror, animated, romance, sci-fi, comedy, documentary, international, experimental, and youth (ages 10-17). I am also allowing screenplays to be entered for competition. Shorts will be considered as anything from 5 to 30 minutes. Feature is 60 minutes plus. Submission fees start at $25 and $10 for youth. I will offer a waiver fee for five films, and fifteen to twenty press passes. I will have two to three short panels a day, and two speaker panels a day. Music each evening and a few celebrity segments. Lastly, I will be doing festival segments honoring a few of my theater idols: Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Nora Ephron and John Gallagher. My hope is to show 120 films.

To anyone wanting to submit a film, early bird submissions will be taken starting November 14, 2016. To any filmmaker or interested party wanting updates on my festival submission guidelines, website, etc., email me directly at [email protected]. Thank you.
