Any fans of The Outer Limits here?

Great, great show! Fascinating stories, top-notch acting and beautiful cinematography in pretty much every episode, this was a show which put all the heart into it (with the exception of "Behold Eck!", but that was still fun entertainment).

It's deservedly considered a classic. Mind you, (like with a lot of sixty minute anthology shows) many of the episodes suffer from pace problems due to the difficulty in trying to keep a single story interesting for an entire hour. "The Twilight Zone" attempted this for one season, and quickly went back to the half hour format the next year. However, yes, a beautifully shot series with marvellously atmospheric music by Dominic Frontiere. Robert Culp contributed some of the best work of his career to this show, and anybody who watches "OL" as a kid is going to encounter some traumatizing moments that will stay with them forever- which is great! I thought "The Architects Of Fear" and "The Sixth Finger" and "O.B.I.T" were the three all-around best episodes, while "The Zanti Misfits", "The Mice" and "The Invisible Enemy" featured the most outstanding monsters. There were some definite winners among the remake series in the 90's, too. Greatly admired "The Outer Limits".

Which 1990s episodes were the best?

I didn't stick with the revamped "The Outer Limits" all the way through it's run, but I did very much like "Trial By Fire", "The Light Brigade", the quasi-remake of "Zanti Misfits" called "The Sand Kings", and my favourite was "Inconstant Moon".

The rated episodes favor the first few seasons, so perhaps you had company. I plan to watch the complete series and have seen about 1/2.
I consider the show more pulpy, less elegant than the original, tho it can be great at times. To your list, I'd add some of the more dark/morbid early episodes, including Second Soul, Dark Matters, A Stitch in Time, and Straight and Narrow.

Since you know the name of the episode "Behold Eck!" you must be referring to Outer Limits-Original. It is one of my all-time favorite TV series and I re-watch it on [http://www.hulu.com]. My favorite episodes are: The Inheritors, Parts 1 & 2, The Man Who Was Never Born, and Behold, Eck!. Why Behold Eck! you might ask. Because it teaches not to outright condemn what we don't understand.

"Sandkings" had nothing to do with "The Zanti Misfits"; it's based on a story by George R. R. Martin. (Wonder what became of him? ;) )

The original series was one of the landmarks of science fiction. "The Sixth Finger" is just brilliant (when I watched it a few years ago, I discovered some very interesting subtext), and the number of great episodes outstrips the Twilight Zone. Other great episodes include "Forms of Things Unknown." "Specimen: Unknown," "Soldier," "Demon with the Glass Hand," and "Controlled Experiment."

I like both Outer Limits shows,but the original is more interesting to watch since it was so groundbreaking and advanced and forward-thinking for its time. Even now,some of the episodes are pretty impressive to watch,because they were made like little sci-fi films. I liked "The Inheritors" because it had a unique,and touching twist on the whole "alien invasion" theme.

"Sandkings" had nothing to do with "The Zanti Misfits";

Yes, but the Sand King creatures are reminiscent in design to the Zanti creepy crawlies, which most would probably agree are the original show's best remembered monsters. That is almost certainly why the producers of the new series chose "The Sand Kings" as their first episode.
