Films/tv shows that make you laugh

Feeling the sadness of the looming shut-down, how about a shout-out to some films and tv shows that make you laugh and feel happy, good or bad.

Some of mine:

As Time Goes By (TV)
Tootsie
His Girl Friday
Bringing Up Baby
Auntie Mame
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House
The Miracle of Morgan's Creek
Please Don't Eat the Daisies

The time of the singing of the birds has come.

I see we share a couple of titles, Maddy. Of your others, I'd certainly choose Frasier from tv and Some Like it Hot and It Happened One Night from the movies. All are laugh out loud funny to me.

The Jack Benny Program is a hoot.

The original Bedazzled with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore is my favorite comedy.

His show was a hoot for sure. Hard to beat a Benny reaction moment. You've reminded me of another old, great and very funny show: THE HONEYMOONERS. Remember it from when I was a kid. Even then it made me laugh.

Another I love is the Morecambe and Wise sketch show. Not sure if non Brits are familiar with this or not if not I highly recommend you check it out. The show is a legend here in the UK. One of the best double acts of all time.

Many classic stars appeared as guests including: Glenda Jackson, John Mills, John Thaw and many personalities of the day including: Andre Previn, Elton John and various newsreaders. It's so funny seeing Eric trying (and nearly always succeeding)to make these stage and screen greats crack up during the show.

For a guy who doesn't like comedy, you have some great choices, grant -- some of which, of course, I don't know. But I'll stick with the classic venue and select IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT as a go-to film for some good laughs and a little joy.
