Did the studios make a mistake by releasing this film in February instead of during Oscars season? Since it has a near perfect Rottentomatoe rating and has been praised by critics, we all know this film would excel greater at the Oscars if it was released later in the year. Did the studios not expect this type of turnout and did they make a mistake with the release?

I know it is very early but is Get Out receiving a Best Picture nomination a lock?
